Blizzard has tallied up the WoW: Forever beta, and the headline number is 8,862,354 characters created over the course of the test, alongside 9,959,014 PvP kills. The stats went out late on October 30 US time (Wowhead's report is timestamped 14:37 UTC-5, or 03:37 Beijing on October 31). The beta itself shut down for good at 01:00 Beijing time on October 24, and launch week is now here: Blizzard's launch blog puts US servers opening the evening of November 4, which is November 5 in the China-published calendar. Test over, scorecard posted.

| Characters created | 8,862,354 |
| PvP kills | 9,959,014 |
| Deadliest dungeon | The Hall of Thanes |
| Deadliest creature | Kobold Miner |
| Zone with the most PvP | Hillsbrad Foothills |
| Duels fought | 1,248,125 |
| Deaths from falling | 1,157,204 |
| "Skyborne" | 1,889,084 |
| Forsaken paladins | 612,096 |
The deadliest dungeon title going to The Hall of Thanes tracks: it's the Alliance leveling dungeon under Ironforge's throne room, where Dark Iron dwarves have tunneled in to loot the kings' hall while restless spirits drift between the pillars — our earlier dungeon preview covered it from Blizzard's official video. A kobold miner claiming deadliest creature and Hillsbrad Foothills topping the PvP chart are about as Classic as results get. New players dying in the mines, grudges settling on the hills — some things don't change.
Two entries need a caveat: the list never defines what "Skyborne" counts, or whether "Forsaken paladins" is a tally of characters or something else entirely. We're passing both along exactly as reported rather than filling the gap for Blizzard.
What Blizzard hasn't said
No reporting window. The list doesn't say when the count begins or whether it's pinned precisely to the October 24 shutdown. We also could not locate Blizzard's original post — blog or blue post — while writing this, so the figures above rest on Wowhead's item text; if the original surfaces with finer print, that version governs. And there are no per-class, per-race or per-realm breakdowns, nor any China-server figures, announced so far.
Three things to do before launch
- Name reservation stays open until 23:59 Beijing time on November 3. Miss it and you're competing for names on launch day — our earlier piece covers the strict duplicate-name checks and the fix that followed.
- If you played the beta, you can export your personal stats — playtime, your most frequent killer, jump count — via our guide to the beta stat export, then compare your totals against Blizzard's.
- Work the schedule backwards: global launch on November 5 (China-published date), and the first three raids — Barrow Deeps (10-player), Hyjal Summit (20) and Onyxia (40) — opening December 9. That's just over a month of leveling runway after launch day.
