This article puts the three warrior trees side by side at level 60: what the loop is, which talents anchor it, and where Forever departs from 1.12. Every build below is replay-verified point by point by the site's talent engine and loads into the planner in one click.

Which one first

  • Fury is the default DPS pick: Dual Wield Specialization, Flurry and Bloodthirst form a straightforward loop, and Forever adds Raging Blows as a free must-take. The new Precision talent (3 points of hit) softens the dual-wield white-miss problem from 1.12.
  • Protection if you want to tank: Shield Slam + Bastion is the durability core, and the new Vanguard talent lets you Charge in Defensive Stance — a real quality-of-life change when picking up packs.
  • Arms comes into its own once a two-hander is online: Mortal Strike is the core, and its prerequisite is Sweeping Strikes — you must take that first, which is different from 1.12.

Arms (34/17/0)

Keep Rend up, Overpower on dodges, Mortal Strike on cooldown. Bloodthrill (5) and Weaponmaster (5) are the two big talents in this tree and the build maxes both. Note the prereq chain — Mortal Strike ← Sweeping Strikes — and that the Fury subtree only reaches its first two rows: the 1.12 habit of borrowing deep Fury talents as Arms does not work here.

Fury (39/12)

Dual Wield Specialization (5) and Flurry (5) are the foundation, but Flurry requires maxed Enrage, and Bloodthirst requires Death Wish — both chains are drawn on the build page. Raging Blows (new in Forever) and Boundless Rage smooth out rage flow; Precision sits right after Cruelty in priority. The Arms subtree spends its 12 points on Deflection, Improved Rend, Improved Charge and Improved Overpower.

Protection (42/9)

Shield Specialization, Anticipation and Toughness carry over as expected; Last Stand requires Improved Bloodrage. Bastion (5) is the shared prerequisite of both Focused Rage and Shield Slam, so it comes first. Forever's additions are Vanguard (Charge in Defensive Stance) and Master of Defense (dodge/parry returns rage); Concussion Blow keeps its 5-second stun.

Leveling order

Every build page lists 15 / 30 / 40 / 51 point milestones (for example Arms leveling): fill the cheap first-row talents, then the first capstone lands at 30 points. A respec costs 1 silver, so switching between a leveling build and an endgame build is free in practice.

Key differences from 1.12

  • The trees are deeper (16–19 talents, 7 rows), so copying an old 51-point guide will waste points in the last rows.
  • Prereq chains are stricter: Flurry ← maxed Enrage, Bloodthirst ← Death Wish. A hand-typed build should be checked in the planner first.
  • Every build carries a data revision (current snapshot c4e901f7d); the build pages flag when a revision is being re-verified.
