Among Forever's hidden discoveries, the Cozy Bedroll is one of the few "everyone should grab it" items: the 3% group XP bonus sounds small, but it is group-shared and the only persistent XP buff of the launch window, and the chain hands you a 12-slot bag on the way — and early on, bag slots are worth more than anything. Our secrets roundup post listed it among the discoveries; this post expands the full walkthrough.

Scope notes: route and coordinates from community testing (10-02 to 10-04); mechanics cross-checked against Wowhead and in-game reports; individual coordinates follow the game.

Picking it up: available at 14, run it at 16

The quest unlocks at 14, but run the full circuit at 16: the route crosses continents and passes through level-30 guard territory — too low, and the guards delete you. The starting points differ by faction:

  • Alliance: Westfall, Alexston Farmstead (37,50);
  • Horde: the Barrens, the Tower Ruins (46,74).

The route: two hand-ins, don't miss one

The chain's core trap is that Stonetalon Mountains requires two separate hand-ins — miss one and you're redoing the leg:

  1. Accept at the starting point (coordinates above);
  2. Stonetalon Mountains (50,50), first hand-in — don't leave; take the next step;
  3. Loch Modan, the Stonewrought Dam (49,13) — second hand-in; trivial for Alliance, a long haul for Horde;
  4. Hillsbrad Foothills, Thoradin's Wall (87,48) — the wall jump — drop off the wall at the marked spot to grab the courier's satchel, then turn in.

The full reward list

  • Cozy Bedroll: 3% group XP. Mechanics: 1-hour cooldown, lie in it for 3 minutes to trigger, lasts 2 hours, shared with your party — take turns and the whole group gets the buff;
  • 12-slot bag (the Old Toolbox): one of the biggest early bag upgrades;
  • Student's Trail Mix ×5: restud-XP food;
  • Assorted small goods: dried fruit, a peach-wood pipe, rum, arrows and shot — trivial each, all useful while levelling.

Time budget and shortcuts

Pure travel runs 1.5-2 hours; with a warlock friend summoning you across, 40-60 minutes (the transcontinental legs are the real cost); Horde players have a 90-minute speed route (community, 10-02). As an investment, earlier is better: every levelling hour after you get it compounds the 3%.

Two common questions

"Can I accept at 14 and run it at 16?" — Yes; accepting early and executing later is common practice. Just don't let it crowd out your quest log.

"Does the bedroll conflict with inn rested XP?" — No. The bedroll is a separate group XP buff; inn rested XP (accumulated offline) still applies, and they stack. If a teammate's leatherworking tent is nearby (+5% rested accumulation), that stacks too.

The bedroll is the dessert; the route is the meal — where to level and which dungeons to run live in the per-level sheets and the route reasoning post; the weapons you can grab along the way are on the starter gear page.
