Talents & builds
Full page →How many talent points at max level?
Level 60 grants 51 points in total. The max-level builds in the library are full 51-point allocations; while levelling, pick prerequisites and efficient talents first.
What if I spend points wrong?
Respec costs 1 silver in a major city, so you can always start over. Load a build in the planner first and compare before spending points in game.
How do I use a talent code?
Use "Load in the talent planner" on a build page to preview it instantly, or paste the code into the planner input box.
Legacy system
Full page →Where do the 16 points come from?
Your account earns points from Legacy Challenges: Classes 27 + Tradeskills 18 + PvP 12 + Adventure 2 + Dungeons 3 + Raids 3 = 65, shared account-wide. But each character can spend at most 16 — the per-character split is the real decision: a tank picks survival utility, a gatherer picks profession yield.
How does this relate to class talents?
Fully independent systems. Class talents keep their 51 points (our builds library and simulator work as before); Legacy points are account-wide horizontal progression focused on professions, levelling and reputation — no combat balance impact, so PvP purists can ignore them.
What is Bountiful Harvest?
Bountiful Harvest is the Tradeskills gathering node: each of its 5 ranks raises rare material output from Mining, Herbalism and Skinning by 20/40/60/80/100% — maxed, rare mats basically drop double. Mind the gate: Performance Bonus (doubled Merchant's Favor on crate turn-ins) requires Bountiful Harvest at rank 5, so those 5 points are locked in before the bonus unlocks. Must-have for gatherer alts, skippable for combat characters — the full node table lives on the Legacy page.
Can I respec?
The blue post does not detail respec mechanics or cost yet — in-game behavior at launch governs. Treat the site's Legacy simulator as planning only: 16 points is tight, decide what each character wants before you log in.
Dungeons
Full page →How many new dungeons does Forever have?
9 listed dungeons; 3 currently marked open in beta: Hall of Thanes (13–18) / Ruins of Lordaeron (15–20) / Excavation Site: Wetlands (26–31). The other 6 have unknown availability (community-reported lists) — openness is tracked separately from source and re-checked against the live game. Availability does not verify tactics or loot.
How should I order dungeons while levelling?
Match your level band: run the two official ones at 13-20, then try Excavation Site: Wetlands at 26–31. Community level ranges are indicative — the in-game dungeon finder governs.
When does the first raid open?
The first raids unlock on 2026-12-09: Barrow Deeps (10-player) and Hyjal Summit (20-player). The dungeons page covers 5-player dungeons only; see the roadmap for the raid timeline.
Leveling
Full page →How long does 1-60 take?
Blizzard has not published a time estimate and we will not invent one. Pace comes down to three things: dungeon queues, keeping rested XP topped up, and picking up Legacy challenges along the way (3 leveling + 6 profession points are on the road anyway). A tested speed reference comes after launch.
Are the new zones mandatory?
Zephras Isle only serves the Skyborne 1-12 start; The Riverglades is one 35-45 option (community-reported). Non-Skyborne players can absolutely run the classic homelands for 1-12 — the new zones are a change of flavor, not a gate.
Should I run every dungeon?
No need to force it. The two official ones (levels 13-20) are must-runs — verified in beta. Wetlands (26–31) is also open; for the remaining community-listed ones the in-game finder governs. Clearing all level 46-60 dungeon finals is itself a Legacy Challenge (1 point), worth a cleanup pass if you are chasing the 16-point budget.
Are dungeons still worth running after the XP nerfs?
First clears yes, grinding no. The 10-01 and 10-04 patches sharply cut dungeon quest bonus XP (community-measured: Shadowfang quest total 32200 → 19800), and designers put kill XP at roughly 10% of outdoor — AoE grinding dungeons is no longer faster than questing. Accept every quest, clear once, and keep the XP and blues.
Addons & macros
Full page →Do classic-era addons work as-is?
Not by default: install only builds explicitly marked Forever / 1.60.1 compatible. Combat assists and automation are the red line (one-button rotation interfaces are specifically targeted); DBM-style timers, meters and nameplates will be built in officially, so third-party replacements can wait.
Can macros get you banned?
Normal conditional-cast and cast-sequence macros (the kind in our macro cheat sheet) are built-in gameplay, not a risk. The red line is automation — auto-combat, auto-gathering and auto-pathing scripts. Never touch those.
Starter gear
Full page →Does the Wetlands blue gun drop directly from the boss?
No. It is one of three rewards from the "Titan Relic" quest: pick up the relic inside, then choose when turning in — both factions can do it. The final boss is around level 31; don't bring a level-20 group.
Why can't I equip a weapon I just looted?
Weapon skills first: new weapon types (one-hand axes, two-hand maces, bows...) must be learned from a weapon master in a major city. Learn everything your class might use before the grind starts, so you can swap immediately.
Races & traits
Full page →Which races are playable in WoW Forever?
Ten: Alliance — Human, Dwarf, Night Elf, Gnome, High Order Skyborne; Horde — Orc, Undead, Tauren, Troll, Windshaper Skyborne. TBC's Draenei and Blood Elves are gone.
Which race-class combinations are new in Forever?
Six: Human Hunter, Dwarf Shaman, Gnome Priest, Orc Mage, Troll Warlock and Undead Paladin. Marked "New combo" on the races page cards.
What are the Skyborne?
A new Forever race with two faction variants: High Order Skyborne (Alliance) and Windshaper Skyborne (Horde). Availability is class-gated (e.g. mages get the High Order variant, shamans the Windshaper), with traits focused on mobility and elemental blessings.
Road to launch
Full page →When does WoW Forever launch?
November 4, 2026 at 3:00 PM Pacific (UTC-8) — that's Nov 5, 07:00 Beijing time — with a level cap of 60.
When can I reserve my character name?
Name reservation runs 2026-10-27 through 11-03. Heroic / Epic / Collection edition owners can reserve early starting 10-27.
Do beta characters carry over?
No — it is a wiped beta. The CN beta ran 2026-10-06 through 10-26 (10-26 is the last full test day per the official test guide) with a level-30 cap, and all characters are wiped at the end. The live game starts from zero on 11-05, 07:00 Beijing time.
Can I run two clients at once?
No. Per the official test guide, one Battle.net account can only log one WoW sub-account at a time — a second login usually fails to kick the online character and triggers a short login cooldown. Log out properly before switching devices, and wait a moment after a disconnect.
When does the first raid open?
The first raids unlock on 2026-12-09 Pacific time — December 10 Beijing: Barrow Deeps (10-player) and Hyjal Summit (20-player). Onyxia's Lair (40-player) is reported for the same day by community sources, not yet confirmed. Molten Core belongs to a later refreshed batch.
Launch checklist
Full page →Is buying gold, selling gold or GDKP risky?
A hard line — stay away. Blizzard comes down hard on RMT (real-money gold trading): buying or selling gold can mean a permanent ban. The community consensus matches: keep gold buying, GDKP and boosting out of your routine, and never accept gold from strangers. The beta even cut wand vendor prices to 1 copper to starve gold farming — the enforcement is real.
Does my checklist progress sync across devices?
No — progress is stored only in your browser's local storage. Use "Copy progress" to share or move it.
Forever vs Classic (1.12)
Full page →Is WoW Forever just classic vanilla again?
No — it is Blizzard's official evolution of classic (the Classic+ direction). The skeleton is 1.12, but rows 6-7 capstones are almost entirely redesigned, with large batches of WotLK talents and brand-new Forever talents folded in.
Do old 1.12 talent guides still work?
Only up to roughly row 5. Forever's prerequisite chains are stricter (specific prerequisites with rank requirements), and capstones changed — old builds waste 5-10 points. Use engine-validated builds instead.
Are there Death Knights or new classes in Forever?
No. Forever keeps the 9 classic classes (Warrior, Paladin, Hunter, Rogue, Priest, Shaman, Mage, Warlock, Druid); changes focus on race combos and talent tree content.
What is the first raid in Forever?
Not Molten Core. The first batch unlocks 2026-12-09: Barrow Deeps (10-player) and Hyjal Summit (20-player); Molten Core comes in a later refreshed batch.
