Note: this lead was originally published on October 15, 2026 by wowdb.wiki — not breaking news.
The database site wowdb.wiki has reworked its item and recipe pages. The idea fits in one line: lead with what the game itself shows you, then answer what the game does not — where an item comes from and what you can make with it.
Item pages
- The page opens on the item's tooltip exactly as the game draws it, icon and quality color included.
- Where to find it: how you get the item. Silver Bar, for example, comes from Smelt Silver, a Mining recipe — and the ore it takes is one click away.
- Used in crafting: every recipe that consumes the item, grouped by profession, each with its skill range and how many units one craft needs.
Recipe pages
A recipe page reads like the profession's crafting card: the product's tooltip, the reagents with counts (and how each reagent itself is made), the tools and anvil required, and the plans that teach it. The skill-ups bar marks where the recipe turns yellow and grey (155 and 185 in the site's example) — the leveling route at a glance. Pick your character, enter its profession skill, set the number of crafts, and the page plans a batch.
Hover previews everywhere
Links to items or recipes now preview on hover (or keyboard focus): a card with the icon, name, skill-ups, where it is learned and its reagents — you read what you need without leaving the page; on mobile, a tap opens the entry.
For anyone leveling professions or planning camp production, these pages pair best with our profession route guides: the guide sets the route, pages like these resolve every step's material sources and skill-up windows.
