wowdb.wiki, a database site popular with WoW: Forever players, has launched a Character Builder: plan a gear set on the web in the game's own Character Info layout — the character stands in the middle with every equipment slot around it, and the totals of what you wear sit beside it. Talents and Legacy share the same character, so class, race and level only need setting once.

The practical details

  • Only what you can wear: open any slot and the list shows just the items your class, race and level can equip, best first, with stats and item level on every row; Find equipment filters by name.
  • Hands work like the game: equipping an off-hand takes off a two-handed weapon, matching in-game behavior.
  • Compare before you equip: selecting an item shows the game's own wording — "If you replace this item, the following stat changes will occur" — with gains in green and losses in red; a double-click equips it.
  • Live totals: the side panel adds up every equipped stat in the order the game's Character Info pane uses, and changing one piece updates the whole sheet.
  • From any item to your character: every wearable item page has Equip in my build, opening the right slot with the comparison ready; unusable items are refused with the game's own message ("You must reach level 60 to use that item").
  • Keep and share: characters persist on the site; Share link opens the same character and gear for anyone you send it to; after signing in, Publish build publishes the build with its paperdoll, totals and talent trees.

For beta players planning transition or best-in-slot gear, this is a keeper — pair it with the full plans in our builds section, test the whole set on the web, then collect it in game.
