Note: this lead was originally published on October 16, 2026 by Wowhead; as of publication the schedule has not changed again, so the information is valid for the October 21 test.
In one sentence: the WoW: Forever stress test originally scheduled for October 19 has been moved to October 21. Blizzard's statement was blunt: "We will do the Stress Test on October 21, not two days earlier as previously stated. Thank you!"
We previously covered the October 19 test (the stress test entry appearing in the launcher, client available for download) — under the new schedule, the date in that article is outdated; the participation requirements are unchanged.
Participation requirements (official)
- No beta access needed;
- No subscription needed;
- No invitation — open to everyone.
The point of a stress test is no mystery: Blizzard wants to check server capacity under peak load ahead of launch. The more people show up, the more realistic the load and the more issues surface before release. For players who missed beta access, this is a zero-barrier chance to try WoW: Forever.
If you plan to join: make sure you can log into the Battle.net client and see the stress test entry; the exact start time will be announced in the launcher. See you there.
