Beta levelers have been asking the same question lately: what happens after the level 30 cap? Blizzard's answer came in an official video — the road to 60 runs through two new zones, and neither is light on story or content.

The Riverglades: Warcraft II factions return

  • Alliance side: you will meet the Brotherhood of the Horse, a faction from Warcraft II — remnants of the Elite Knights of Stormwind who disobeyed orders after the Battle of Blackrock Mountain to chase down Horde remnants attacking undefended Alliance lands. Their remnants hold Farhold Keep in the Riverglades.
  • Horde side: you will encounter the Boulderrock ogre clan, former members of the Twilight Hammer — and enemies on all sides, including their old masters in a nearby fortress.
  • Shared story: both factions clash with the Twilight's Hammer. Side content includes wrecking a pirate operation, rescuing a horse and Jom-Jom, and a fighting ring deep in ogre territory where you take on the ogres' best brawlers.

Mount Hyjal: open for the first time since the Third War

The road into Hyjal has opened for the first time since the Third War. Players work alongside the Druids of the Talon and other members of the Cenarion Circle to rebuild the land; Horde and Alliance have been forced into an uneasy coexistence, and tensions are heating up. A crow has uncovered sinister warlock activity tied to something called the Wild King.

The headline: a new 10-player raid, Barrow Deeps, awaits in Hyjal — a prison that held Azeroth's most infamous betrayer.

What it means for leveling plans

First, level 30 is not the end: the second half of the leveling journey carries two full zones of content. Second, raiding opens up along the way — the 10-player format means fixed groups can start recruiting before cap. One reminder: this is an official preview. When the 31-60 content ships, and when the beta cap lifts, will come from future Blizzard announcements.
