Note: this lead was originally published on October 22, 2026 by Wowhead, based on searches in its public item database (static data; the source itself notes this is not definitive proof).

With players having leveled multiple characters to 30 in the beta, database searches have become the tool for finding gear patterns. Wowhead's latest search has a niche but important conclusion for one class: Mail spell power armor essentially does not exist in WoW: Forever's early levels.

The search results (static data)

  • Dungeon drops: searching for Mail spell power gear returns only random Uncommon pieces with spell power suffixes — "of Magic", "of the Knight";
  • Quest rewards: only two items show up, and they are primarily healing pieces — Garrison Cuffs and Silvered Gauntlets;
  • Wowhead's own caveat: this is not definitive proof that none exists, but it is a strong indicator that players have not found any.

Who is affected

From levels 1-30, this affects exactly one class: Paladin — the only class with no gear tailored to it from dungeons or quests in that range. Without the auction house, a paladin's upgrade path is crafting: patterns come from dungeon drops and from Merchant's Favor turn-ins with the Azeroth Commerce Authority / Durotar Supply and Logistics.

Static data can change before launch, and the source says as much. But with the beta in its final days (the end-of-beta celebration is already underway), paladins still leveling should treat a crafting profession as near-required if they want upgrades comparable to quest and dungeon rewards. Race and talent picks remain in our race recommendations and talents database.
