World of Warcraft: Forever is in beta (September 17 – October 21) ahead of its November 4, 2026 launch. Wowhead published a burst of Forever stories over the past 24 hours; this post walks through them by importance, sources linked at the end.

1. Gold buyers will face action: Blizzard names "buyers" for the first time

The most consequential story of the day. After players questioned streamers' mysterious gold reserves, Blizzard reiterated its stance on real-money transactions (RMT):

"While we have always actioned RMT seller's accounts as quickly as possible, we will increasingly take action against buyer's accounts. That means that we will remove the illicit gold from the recipient, and/or take further actions, which can include account bans."

— Blizzard statement

Two things stand out: the enforcement net now explicitly covers buyers, not just sellers, and Blizzard specifically warned players not to accept gold gifts from strangers — accepting illicit gold can put your account at risk.

Combined with the earlier banning of 0.18% of rule-breaking character names, Blizzard is setting rules loudly while the game is still in beta. Expect the same posture — or stricter — after the November 4 launch.

2. Three signals about new content: a mega dungeon, PAX Aus, and an arena hint

Signal one: a BRD-style mega dungeon. Responding to a player's wish for a Blackrock Depths-like mega dungeon, Josh Greenfield (Aggrend) replied: "a good BRD-like mega dungeon — Hold our beer(s)." Classic BRD spans levels 52–60 with roughly 20 bosses and takes hours to clear; Wowhead speculates that Blackmaw Hold, one of Forever's two end-game dungeons, will be in that weight class.

Signal two: an official deep dive at PAX Aus. At PAX Aus (October 9–11), executive producer Holly Longdale delivers the opening Storytime keynote and joins associate production director Clay Stone on stage for an exclusive dungeon deep dive, with a livestream available. Official, concrete new-dungeon information will land by mid-October at the latest.

Signal three: an arena hint? In the new Riverglades zone, at the neutral goblin hub Powderfuse Port, an NPC named Jazzle Cheapshot stands next to a small caged arena, saying "Come back when I get this place up and runnin'." Wowhead reads this as a possible arena foreshadow — though it may just be quest-set dressing. Time will tell.

Separately, a walkthrough is already available for the leveling dungeon Ruins of Lordaeron (levels 16–23, above the Undercity): 6 quests for Horde, 4 for Alliance, and it is comfortably clearable at level 17 despite red quest levels.

3. The druid cat form quest: from complaints to fix in one day

Plenty of level-20 druids were stuck on the cat form quest: the three relics in the Stormrage Barrow Den threw "no loot" errors (suspected to require single-person clicks on the statues), and griefers spam-clicking made things worse, forming queues at the spot. About four hours after the story broke, Josh Greenfield confirmed the bug was fixed.

Two takeaways: the beta feedback loop is genuinely fast, and iconic class milestones like cat form are being treated as priority experiences — class-fantasy completeness is one of this Classic+'s selling points.

4. A Make-A-Wish quest is on its way back

The most heartwarming item. Back in TBC, Ezra Chatterton — a young player whose wish was granted through Make-A-Wish — designed the Mulgore quest "Kyle's Gone Missing!", helping the tauren Ahab Wheathoof find his dog Kyle, and even voiced Ahab himself. Because the quest was born in TBC, it has been missing from Forever, and players have asked for its return repeatedly. Blizzard has now responded:

"We're working on it. Stay tuned!"

— Blizzard statement

For veterans, this is not just a quest — it is a piece of community memory finding its way home.

5. Other notes

  • Cross-faction elven speech: the new Skyborne race (Alliance High Order / Horde Windshaper branches) can currently pick Darnassian and chat across faction lines. Intent or bug is unclear — if intentional, it is a notable loosening of the faction divide.
  • Book collecting for everyone: the SoD mage book hunt returns as an all-class activity. 10 books earn a necklace (Friend of the Library), 20 earn a ring; hand them to your faction's librarian in Stormwind's Mage Tower or Undercity's Magic Quarter.
  • Gear store transmog: the Grassy Dunecloth three-piece (vest/belt/skirt) comes free with an eligible Blizzard Gear Store purchase until October 12, entry point around $30.
