Three hunter trees at level 60: what each loop looks like, which talents anchor it, and where Forever departs from 1.12. Every build is replay-verified point by point by the site's talent engine and loads into the planner in one click.
Which one first
- Marksmanship for raids: Trueshot Aura buffs the whole raid's attack power, and the new execute-style capstone Sniper Shot gives the spec real endgame teeth — the strongest raid package of the three.
- Beast Mastery for solo and pet play: 1.12 BM players will feel at home instantly, and Forever adds a brand-new pet talent, Summon Hawk.
- Survival is the curiosity pick: a genuine melee hybrid (Raptor Strike + Mongoose Bite at the core). Community interest is low and beta simulations put its DPS behind the other two, but nothing else plays like it.
Full builds live in the library: Hunter builds.
Beast Mastery (35/16)
Deadly Aspects and Endurance Training open, Unleashed Fury and Ferocity feed the pet, and Intimidation (1) gates Bestial Wrath. Summon Hawk — a new Forever pet — sits on row 3. Frenzy (5) and Bestial Wrath close the tree. The Marksmanship subtree takes Lethal Attacks, Efficiency and Careful Aim, the same borrowing plan as 1.12.
Marksmanship (42/9)
The key chains: Mortal Shots requires maxed Careful Aim, Rapid Recuperation requires Rapid Killing, and the capstone Sniper Shot requires Trueshot Aura — which is already a raid must-take, so the chain builds itself. Hawk Eye and Improved Concussive Shot are the flex points; the build spends them on Barrage and Ranged Weapon Specialization. The BM subtree stays in its first two rows.
Survival (31/20)
Predator's Edge (5) and Lightning Reflexes (5) carry the melee side; the capstone Lacerating Strikes requires maxed Expose Prey and adds a bleed to your attacks. Deterrence, Counterattack and Clever Traps keep the toolkit honest. The Marksmanship subtree spends 20 points on Lethal Attacks, Efficiency, Careful Aim, Improved Stings and Rapid Killing.
Leveling order
Every build page lists 15 / 30 / 40 / 51 point milestones (for example Marksmanship leveling). While leveling, Improved Revive Pet is worth taking early — it changes the pace of the whole journey.
Key differences from 1.12
- BM and Marksmanship still look familiar through row 5, but rows 6–7 are all new: Sniper Shot and Summon Hawk do not exist in 1.12.
- Survival was rebuilt from an off-spec into a complete melee tree — the biggest rework hunters got in Forever.
- Prereqs are stricter (Mortal Shots ← maxed Careful Aim); check hand-typed builds in the planner before spending in game.
