Blizzard's first class deep dive for WoW: Forever covers the Hunter and the Druid, listing every baseline-ability and talent change. Every class will get its own deep dive — the Priest and Warrior one is already out.
The shared talent framework: talents open at level 10 as before; gold-medal milestones sit at 11, 21 and 31 points, now joined by a new 16-point milestone. Group buffs such as Blessing of Kings and Improved Mark of the Wild become baseline. Respecs (Legacy talents included) happen at a class trainer in a major city, and Dual Specialization unlocks at level 40.
Hunter: both identities get thicker
- Aimed Shot becomes a baseline ability for every Hunter at level 20; Arcane Shot no longer shares its cooldown with it, while Multi-Shot now does.
- Traps are usable in combat on a 30-second cooldown, with Frost and Fire traps on separate cooldowns. Scorpid Sting now lowers the target's chance to hit by 2% instead of stripping Strength and Agility.
- Pets gain stats from the Hunter's gear and no longer take player stat buffs. Foxes join as a new pet family, every family has one unique ability (Sonic Blast for bats, Shell Shield for turtles, Furious Howl for wolves and so on), and Owls are renamed Bird of Prey.
- Beast Mastery: the new 16-point gold-medal talent is Summon Hawk — up to two Hawks at once, sharing a cooldown with Arcane Shot.
- Marksmanship: the 11-point gold-medal talent is Lone Wolf (20% more damage with no pet out); Trueshot Aura moves to 21 points; the new 31-point Sniper Shot is a 4-second cast with a 45-yard base range that extends your next 3 Shots by 10 yards each.
- Survival: Counterattack becomes the 16-point gold-medal talent, Strider Kick arrives at 21 and Lacerating Strikes at 31 (Mongoose Bite adds a 21-second Bleed). Wyvern Sting, Killer Instinct and Improved Feign Death merge into Resourcefulness.
Druid: shapeshifting opens up
The headline for Druids is how many form restrictions are gone:
- Potions and almost all similar consumables work in form without cancelling it — Druids can also drink Rage potions and Thistletea. Most Engineering bombs still cannot be used.
- Weapon enchants and procs work in form, including weightstones, Crusader and Windfury Totem; auto-attack DPS in Bear, Cat and Dire Bear Form now matches the equipped weapon.
- Racial abilities work in form (Shadowmeld, War Stomp, Walk on Air), and most doors and objects can be used without leaving it.
- New baseline abilities: Nature's Grasp at 10, Revive at 12, Omen of Clarity at 20 and Lacerate at 42; Tiger's Fury is removed.
- Talent highlights: Balance's 16-point gold-medal talent is Insect Swarm, with a new Eclipse talent; Feral's 16-point row holds two gold-medal talents — Primal Bite for Bears (Blizzard confirmed it replaces Mangle) and Shifting Power for Cats (40 Energy at once for a large Mana cost). Both entered the Beta with the 1 October build 1.60.1.70170, which also removed King of the Jungle; Restoration's Swiftmend moves up to 16 points and no longer consumes Rejuvenation or Regrowth, while the 31-point Wild Growth comes back from Wrath of the Lich King.
Blizzard notes abilities and talents may still change during the Beta. Cross-check the details on our class changes page, try a build in the talent library, or line the talent milestones up with our leveling route.
