The Night Watchman's Torch is probably the most-played-with item in the WoW: Forever Beta — nothing sets the mood on a night road like a carried torch. It did have one awkward flaw, though: when druids used the torch in cat or bear form, the model would clip straight into the character.

So the community produced that viral Reddit post, with a solution stated as plainly as possible: no fancy animation needed — just let bears and cats carry the torch in their mouths.

According to Wowhead, a recent beta build appears to have done exactly that: the torch no longer clips while shapeshifted, and the pose is the player-proposed "carried in the mouth". To be clear, this is a change observed through beta testing — Blizzard has issued no announcement, and details may change with the shipping build.

Why did such a small fix land so well? Because what players appreciated was not the feature itself but the responsiveness. Forever's art and development team had already earned goodwill with the big changes — lighting, fog, expanded field of view — and this time a hot community post was implemented within a single build update. The closeness between the beta team and the community shows itself in exactly these small things.

Worth noting: the torch is not just flavor. It has real lighting value during night and cave exploration, and leveling druids can now stay in animal form without losing it.
